New Delhi: The Delhi Police has achieved great success. Delhi Police arrested Swami Chaitanyanand Saraswati alias Partha Sarathi from Agra late at night. He is accused of allegedly molesting and forging female students doing PGDM courses under the Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) scholarship.
Delhi Police arrested Swami Chaitanyananda Saraswati from a hotel in Agra late at night. The team has left Agra for Delhi and will produce Swami Chaitanyananda Saraswati in court later today.
In the case of Swamy, who is accused of alleged sexual harassment with students, the police have frozen 18 bank accounts and 28 fixed deposit accounts related to the trust formed by the accused. There were about eight crore rupees in them. The debit and credit cards of the accused have also been stopped.
The court dismissed the petition.
On Friday, the Patiala House Court rejected Baba’s anticipatory bail plea. Baba had sought protection from arrest in the case of alleged fraud, forgery and criminal conspiracy registered against him. But Additional Sessions Judge Hardeep Kaur said the investigation in the ongoing case was at an early stage. The investigating officer needs to interrogate the petitioner and the accused in custody to find out the full chain of fraud, fraud, conspiracy and misuse of money. The investigating officer told the court that the accused is not present at his given address and his mobile phone is switched off. In view of the allegations and the seriousness of the offence, the court dismissed the anticipatory bail plea of the accused.
What is the whole matter
The director of the branch of an ashram in Delhi’s Vasant Kunj has been booked for alleged molestation and sexual harassment after more than 15 students filed a complaint. According to the police, on August 4, a complaint was received by an administrator of the institute against Swamy at Vasant Kunj North police station, alleging that he sexually harassed female students doing PGDM courses under the EWS scholarship scheme in the institute.
Police said statements of 32 students were recorded during interrogation, of which 17 alleged abusive language, obscene WhatsApp/SMS messages and unwanted physical contact by the accused. It also alleged that the women working as faculty/administrators incited and pressured him to meet the demands of the accused.
