BKTC media in-charge Dr. Harish Chandra Gaur said that the Sutak period has started 9 hours before the lunar eclipse. Due to which the doors of Panchkedar Gaddi Sthal Omkareshwar Temple, Vishwanath Temple, Triyuginarayan, Kalimath and other temples were closed till the eclipse period.
At the same time, the doors of Kashi Vishwanath Temple including Gangotri and Yamunotri Dham were closed till Monday morning. Mahant Ajay Puri of Kashi Vishwanath Temple and Secretary of Gangotri Dham Temple Committee Suresh Semwal said that the doors of the Dham were closed as per the time of Sutak.
Ganga Aarti was performed in Haridwar in the afternoon itself. Due to Chandra Graha, Ganga Aarti was performed at Har Ki Pauri in Haridwar in the afternoon itself. Also, the doors of all the temples were closed. After this, Aarti will be performed on Monday
