After a year-long hiatus, voting is underway for student union elections in government and non-government colleges across the state on Saturday. The results will be announced this evening after the vote count. Students are enthusiastic about the elections in the city’s four non-government and two government colleges.
The student union elections at DAV PG College, Uttarakhand’s largest college, have become interesting this year. While the contest for the post of president has become triangular, the contest for the post will be a direct contest between the National Students Union of India (NSUI) and the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP).
4,756 female students and 4,285 male students will cast their votes here. A total of 16 booths have been set up, with eight for female students and eight for male students. At DBS (PG) College, 32 candidates are contesting for six posts, representing a total of 1,588 female students.
