Doda (Jammu and Kashmir): After a long dry spell of almost three months, snowfall finally began in Bhalesa and surrounding plains and upper reaches of Doda in Jammu and Kashmir from midnight on Friday. According to the latest information, there was so much snowfall throughout the area that everything was covered in a blanket of snow, which made the people very happy. Meanwhile, significant snowfall has also been reported in Baramulla, Budgam, and Batote, a hill resort town in Ramban.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted a change in weather in the states of North India. The department said that due to a Western Disturbance, several states may experience snowfall and rain. Along with this, strong winds and hailstorms with thunder and lightning are also expected. According to the latest information, continuous snowfall in the Kashmir Valley is affecting operations at Srinagar airport. Several flights have already been cancelled.
