State School Standards Authority (SSSA) will be constituted with the aim of establishing educational standards in the primary and secondary schools of the state. Instructions have been given to the departmental officials for this. Apart from this, students deprived of admission in class-1 due to not fulfilling the minimum age limit will be admitted to Balvatika-3 in future. Also, departmental officials have been instructed to prepare and implement the curriculum from class 01 to 08 in accordance with NEP-2020.
The state’s School Education Minister Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat held a review meeting of the Education Department in the assembly hall at the Vidhan Sabha today. In which he directed the officials to immediately constitute the State School Standards Authority in the state under the provisions of the New Education Policy-2020. Dr. Rawat said that the formation of SSSA will help in establishing educational standards in the state, as well as from recognition of schools to learning goals and class room standards will be fixed, so that the functioning of private and government schools can be improved. Apart from this, Balvatika-3 will also be operated on the lines of Balvatika-1 and 2 in primary schools across the state. In which such students will be given admission who are deprived of admission in class-1 due to not completing the prescribed age limit in an academic session. Dr. Rawat said that there is a large number of such students across the state who are not able to complete the minimum age limit of 6 years at the time of admission in class-1 and also drop out from the centers run in Anganwadi in the middle of the session after completing the age of five years. The departmental minister reprimanded the departmental officials for not preparing the curriculum as per NEP-2020. He directed the officials to prepare the curriculum of classes 1 to 8 in accordance with the 70 and 30 percent content set in the NEP guidelines within two months. Apart from this, he also instructed the officials in the meeting to repair about 150 damaged schools across the state immediately. He said that an amount of about 30 crores has been sanctioned from the disaster fund for the repair of these schools. Apart from this, every District Magistrate can also spend two lakh rupees per school from the disaster reduction fund, for this, instructions have also been given to form a monitoring committee under the chairmanship of the departmental secretary.
School Education Secretary Ravinath Raman, Additional Secretary Ranjana Rajguru, MM Semwal, Deputy Secretary Anil Pandey, Director Secondary Education Dr. Mukul Kumar Sati, Director Primary Education Ajay Nautiyal, APD Samagra Shiksha Kuldeep Gairola, Padmaendra Saklani and other departmental officers were present in the meeting.
