Thousands of Congress workers gathered at the state Congress headquarters, Rajiv Bhawan, this morning as part of their previously announced march to the Chief Minister’s residence, demanding a CBI inquiry into the UK Triple SC exam paper leak case, which took place on September 21st, under the supervision of a sitting High Court judge, the cancellation of the leaked exam and the announcement of a new exam date, and the dismissal of UK Triple SC President Ganesh Singh Martolia. Under the leadership of state president Karan Mahra, former president Ganesh Godiyal, former president Pritam Singh, former Chief Minister Harish Rawat, AICC Secretary Qazi Nizamuddin, and several MLAs, former ministers, and former MLAs, they marched towards the Chief Minister’s residence at 12:30 pm. Party workers, raising slogans of “Paper Chor Gaddi Chhod,” “Vote Chor Gaddi Chhod,” marched on Rajpur Road, carrying anti-government placards, through Bahl Chowk, Dilaram Bazaar, and Cantt Road, directly towards the Chief Minister’s residence. Upon reaching the barricade near the police post on Cantt Road, the workers, raising loud slogans, climbed the barricade to reach the Chief Minister’s residence under the leadership of State President Karan Mahara, former President Ganesh Godiyal, and State Vice President Organization Suryakant Dhasmana. After much jostling, State Congress Vice President Dhasmana began the public meeting from the barricade itself. Addressing the party workers, State President Karan Mahara accused the Dhami government of betraying the state’s youth and unemployed, saying that the state’s youth, who have been wandering from door to door in search of employment for the last eight and a half years, are today disappointed, frustrated, and angry that not only have all recruitments been halted in the state, but the examination papers for the few recruitments that do take place are openly auctioned. Those involved are somehow connected to the BJP, be it Hakam Singh, Sanjay Dhariwal, or Dharmendra Singh Chauhan. Karan Mahara stated that since the UK Triple SC exam paper leak on September 21st, the Congress party has been continuously protesting. “We demand that the CBI investigate this leak under the supervision of a sitting High Court judge,” he said. “A CBI investigation alone is not enough; it must be supervised.” He added that the president under whose tenure the paper leak occurred, and who refused to acknowledge the leak for three days, is still in office, so how can an impartial investigation be conducted under his leadership?” Mahara demanded that the government immediately dismiss UK Triple SC president Ganesh Martolia. Addressing the gathering, former state Congress president Ganesh Godiyal said that under the BJP rule, sand, gravel, and stone theft were already rampant, and now paper theft is also becoming rampant. He stated that the Congress party will not tolerate any compromise with the future of the state’s unemployed youth and will not rest until this government is overthrown. Former President Pritam Singh said that the BJP government has completely failed on every front, from law and order to development and employment, and therefore, only by removing this government from power can every section of the state benefit. Presiding over the meeting, State Congress Committee Senior Vice President Organization Suryakant Dhasmana said that the Congress party had been on the front foot from day one in the UK Triple SC exam paper leak case against the state government and the UK Triple SC. “We believe that after the eight-day Congress protest and the announcement of a march to the Chief Minister’s residence, panic gripped the BJP leadership,” he said. The BJP and its Chief Minister, who had been labeling the youth protesting against the paper leak as “cheating jihad,” “anti-Sanatan,” and “anti-national,” suddenly reached out to the youth and announced a recommendation for a CBI inquiry, thus misleading them into ending the protest. However, even today, five days after the end of the protest, the CBI investigation has not yet begun. Mr. Dhasmana said that till date the paper which was leaked has not been cancelled and UK Triple SC President Ganesh Martolia, who is responsible for the paper leak, is still sitting on the post of President, hence Congress will continue the agitation till all these demands are met. During the meeting itself, after State President Karan Mahra announced a siege of the Chief Minister’s residence, the police suddenly began arresting Congress leaders.
