A major accident has occurred due to stampede on the Mansa Devi temple road in Haridwar, Uttarakhand. Six people are reported to have died in the stampede. There are also reports of many people being badly injured. Relief and rescue operations are going on at the spot. After the accident, police and administration teams immediately started taking the injured to hospitals.
According to the information, around 9 o’clock on Sunday morning, someone spread a rumor of electric current among the devotees climbing the temple, due to which there was a stampede among the devotees. In the chaos, people fell on each other. Many devotees got buried amidst the screams.
As soon as the information was received, police and administrative teams reached the spot and relief and rescue work was started. The injured have been admitted to the nearest hospital. The situation is under control, but there is an atmosphere of panic in the area due to the accident.
Garhwal Divisional Commissioner Vinay Shankar Pandey told the news agency that a stampede broke out after a huge crowd gathered at the Mansa Devi temple in Haridwar. Six people died in the stampede. Many people have also been injured
Six devotees died in the stampede
SSP Pramod Singh Dobal said that a total of 35 devotees injured in the accident have been brought to the district hospital, in which six devotees have died in the stampede while others are injured. Of which the patients in critical condition are being referred to higher centers.
Seven ambulances of 108 service and two ambulances of ‘Khushiyon Ki Sawari’ were deployed on the spot to provide immediate first aid to the injured in the stampede incident and to take them safely to the hospital. Through these ambulance services, many injured were taken to the hospital on time and necessary medical assistance was provided.
CM Dhami expressed grief
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has expressed grief over the stampede in Mansa Devi Temple Road in Haridwar. He wrote that very sad news has been received about the stampede in Mansa Devi Temple Road in Haridwar. SDRF, local police and other rescue teams have reached the spot and are engaged in relief and rescue operations. In this regard, I am in constant touch with the local administration and the situation is being constantly monitored. I pray to Mata Rani for the safety of all the devotees
