A significant government initiative is underway for the youth of Uttarakhand who dream of joining the army as Agniveers. The state’s Sports Department will now provide free preparation for the physical tests for Agniveer recruitment. In this regard, Sports Minister Rekha Arya issued instructions to department officials on Friday, stating that the sports facilities, stadiums, and equipment available at all district headquarters will be available to youth preparing for the army.
The meeting also reviewed preparations for the Unity March to commemorate the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel on October 31st and the foot marches to be held in all districts in the second phase. Cabinet Minister Arya informed that preparations are underway to organize a Youth Festival during the silver jubilee celebrations of the state’s founding. Officials were also directed to this effect. Special Sports Principal Secretary Amit Sinha, Additional Director Ajay Agarwal, Principal of Maharana Pratap Sports College Rajesh Manmgai, Deputy Director Jayaraj, and other officials were present at the meeting.
Special trainers will be appointed.
After the meeting at the camp office in Yamuna Colony, Minister Arya stated that this training will be completely free so that every youth can have the opportunity to serve the country. Currently, the youth will be trained through trainers available with the Sports Department, but in the future, there are plans to arrange for specialized human resources for this work.
