Assembly Speaker Ritu Khanduri Bhushan has expressed displeasure over not getting proper protocol during the program organized at Parade Ground on Independence Day. She has sent a letter to Chief Secretary Anand Bardhan through Deputy Secretary Assembly and asked to take action against the officers responsible for violating the protocol. This is the second case of violation of protocol in the capital after Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla. Assembly Deputy Secretary (Accounts) Hemchandra Pant has said in a letter sent to the Chief Secretary that the Assembly Speaker was also invited to the Independence Day celebrations held at Parade Ground. The government had also sent a map of the arrangement of the Parade Ground along with the invitation letter. Drawing attention to the map, it was written in the letter that the Speaker’s sitting place was determined after the Chief Minister in the Ganga. Prima facie, proper care was not taken of the dignity of the Speaker for his sitting, which is a matter of regret. The Speaker of the Assembly is a constitutional post and the seating arrangement made is a contempt of this post. The Speaker of the Assembly has expressed displeasure over this. He said in the letter that he himself feels that when the speaker of the assembly is not being allotted a respectable place in accordance with his dignity, then it would not be appropriate for him to attend the program. He expected appropriate action in this matter.
