The Sports Department has prepared a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for providing free training to youth for Agniveer recruitment in the Army. The department will provide training in all districts of the state. To participate in the training, youth must be permanent residents of the state with a high school grade of 45 percent or higher.
On the instructions of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, the Sports Department has prepared the SOP for pre-recruitment training. The purpose of the training is to prepare youth for Agniveer recruitment, enabling them to pursue a career in the Army. For young men and women interested in Agniveer pre-recruitment training, they must be native and permanent residents of Uttarakhand, or be studying or serving in an institution in Uttarakhand.
Furthermore, the eligibility criteria for training are 33 percent in each subject and over 16 years of age. Registration for training is mandatory at the District Sports Office and the District Youth Welfare Officer’s office.
The SOP requires submitting a health certificate for training. Attendance must be made for training wearing a sports T-shirt, shorts, sports shoes, and socks. There should be no tattoos or unnatural permanent marks on the body.
Uttarakhand has a rich military tradition, with a member from every family serving in the military. Therefore, the government is providing pre-recruitment training for Agniveers. The state government has decided to provide reservations for Agniveers in government jobs after their service.
