Soldier Welfare Minister Ganesh Joshi held a review meeting at his camp office today regarding preparations for the Martyrs’ Honor Ceremony, to be held in Lansdowne on October 5th. The Minister directed officials to ensure all preparations for the event are completed in a timely manner, with special attention paid to its dignity and grandeur. During the virtual meeting, Minister Joshi received detailed information on the program’s preparations from District Soldiers’ Welfare Officer, Lansdowne, Virendra Bhatt, and provided necessary guidelines for a successful event. The Soldiers’ Welfare Minister informed that the sacred soil from the courtyards of 1,734 martyrs in the state has been brought to the military shrine, but the courtyards of approximately 71 martyrs were left out in this process. To bring the soil from these martyrs, the Martyrs’ Honor Yatra 2.0 is being conducted across the state, which will conclude in Lansdowne on October 5th. He stated that on this occasion, martyr families will be honored with copper plates. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami will attend the event as the chief guest. Minister Joshi stated that soil from the courtyards of the martyrs who were left behind will also be included before the inauguration of the Sainik Dham. This step demonstrates the government’s commitment to honoring the martyrs and their families. During the meeting, department officials also presented Sainik Welfare Minister Ganesh Joshi with the national-level award recently received by the Uttarakhand Sainik Welfare Department from Union Defense Minister Rajnath Singh at the National Conclave 2025. This award was given for the department’s effective implementation of welfare, rehabilitation, and soldier-centric schemes for ex-servicemen. Minister Joshi congratulated and congratulated the department officials on this achievement.
