Sainik Welfare Minister Ganesh Joshi reached Lansdowne today and inspected the venue of the Sainik Samman Samaroh to be held on 05 October. During this, he instructed the officials that all the preparations of the program should be completed in a timely manner and special attention should be paid to its dignity and grandeur.
After the inspection, the minister also held a review meeting of the preparations for Shaheed Samman Samaroh and Shaheed Samman Yatra 2.O. He instructed the officials to complete all the necessary work within the stipulated time frame.
The Sainik Welfare Minister said that the soil from the courtyard of 1734 martyrs of the state has been brought to Sainyadham, but about 71 martyrs were left out in this process. The second phase of Shaheed Samman Yatra will be organized to bring the sacred soil from the courtyard of these martyrs, which will run from 22 September to 04 October.
He said that after this yatra, Shaheed Samman Samaroh will be organized in Lansdowne on 05 October. On this occasion, the martyr families will be honored by giving copper plates. State Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami will attend the program as the chief guest.
Minister Joshi said that the state government has decided that before the inauguration of the Sainik Dham, the soil from the courtyard of the left out martyrs will also be brought to the Sainik Dham and included. This step shows the government’s commitment to honor the martyrs and their families.
During this, Brigadier Vinod Singh Negi, Commandant of Garhwal Rifle Regiment Center, Brigadier (Retd) Amritlal, Director of Sainik Welfare Department, Girish Gunwant, Chief Development Officer of Pauri, Deputy District Magistrate Shalini, District Sainik Welfare Officer VP Bhatt, including military officers and district administration officials were present.
