Snowfall has been continuing since this morning in Badrinath, Hemkund Sahib, and the Niti and Mana valleys. It’s also experiencing severe cold. Meanwhile, the rain in the plains has also brought a chill. Looking at the data, the maximum temperature in Doon has dropped three degrees below normal, reaching 27.4 degrees. Meanwhile, a heavy afternoon rain not only brought pleasant weather but also forced people to wear lighter clothing due to the cold. However, the minimum night temperature remained two degrees above normal. Regarding rainfall data, Doon alone recorded 9.7 mm of rain, compared to the previous day’s temperatures of three to four degrees above normal. CS Tomar, Director of the Meteorological Center, stated that due to the formation of low pressure, heavy rain is expected in Uttarakhand until October 8th. Even today, heavy to very heavy rain is forecast for most parts of the state. Snowfall is also expected in higher elevations. He added that after October 8th, the weather will remain dry throughout the state. He added that post-monsoon rains typically occur. However, changing weather patterns and climate change are contributing to the increased rainfall this time
