The Congress party is preparing to highlight state and public issues in a special session of the Assembly commemorating the silver jubilee of the state’s establishment. Leader of the Opposition Yashpal Arya said that the BJP government has no achievements to boast about. The government is only patting itself on the back for the Uniform Civil Code, anti-copying laws, land laws, and anti-conversion laws.
The Leader of the Opposition stated that the state government has called a two-day special session in Dehradun to mark the 25th anniversary of the state’s formation. Question Hour and legislative work were not held during this session. Uttarakhand’s achievements under BJP governments since its formation have been negligible. Today, the state is mired in debt. Former Chief Minister, the late Narayan Dutt Tiwari, established industrial and infrastructure in the state. Along with schools and polytechnics, an IIM was opened in Kashipur.
It was during the Tiwari government that industrial development in the state gained momentum. The BJP government has today destroyed the concept of development. The Leader of the Opposition stated that the Congress will raise issues such as corruption, law and order, migration, unemployment, and other issues for discussion
