On the holy festival of Sawan Monday, a crowd of devotees gathered in major Shiva temples across the state. Long queues of devotees were seen in the temples since morning. Everyone reached to perform Jalabhishek of Lord Shiva with the chants of ‘Har-Har Mahadev’ and ‘Bol Bam’ with water pots.
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami also performed Jalabhishek with wife Geeta Dhami. He prayed to Bholenath for the welfare and happiness and prosperity of the people of the state. On the other hand, a large number of devotees also reached Katkeshwar Mahadev Temple in Srinagar. Special arrangements were made in the temple for Jalabhishek. The devotees worshiped with rituals and prayed to Lord Shiva for the relief of their troubles.
There was a rush of Shiva devotees in the ancient Shiva temple located in Dharampur, Dehradun since morning. The devotees anointed Bholenath by offering water and Belpatra on the Shivling. The devotees made the atmosphere devotional by chanting the name of Shiva.
Even in the Panchayat temple located in Araghar, the devotees of Shiva performed Jalabhishek with full devotion. A special puja was organized by the temple committee. This holy festival of Sawan deepens the feeling of devotion to Shiva. Every Monday, people keep fast and reach Shiva temples to offer water.
