Ration is being delivered to very special areas through helicopter from Agastyamuni. Heavy rain and landslide have caused heavy destruction in Basukedaar sub tehsil and Jakholi block of the district. More than 15 shops and houses were razed to the ground due to landslide in Chenagad, the main stop of East Bangar. Eight people were swept away in the Chandan river here.
Apart from this, many roads and footpaths have been damaged due to heavy rains, due to which rescue and relief work is facing great difficulties. At the same time, a woman died after being buried under the debris when a house collapsed in Tendwal village of Gram Panchayat Lalludi of Jakholi block. Heavy rain has caused extensive damage in many other villages adjoining Basukedaar.
According to the information, it was raining in Chenagad, the main stop of East Bangar, since around 8 pm on Thursday night. Torrential rain started here late at night. A landslide occurred here due to heavy rain between 3 to 3:45 pm.
- The houses and shops built here were razed to the ground in the flood of debris and the debris and the people present there were swept away into the Chandan river below. These include four Nepali labourers, two shopkeepers Satte Singh Negi and Neeraj and two forest department employees Kuldeep Singh Negi and Raj Bugana.
