Dehradun/Haridwar: There has been a lot of ruckus in the district headquarters today during the Nainital District Panchayat President election. In which there was a fierce scuffle between BJP and Congress workers. Leader of Opposition Yashpal Arya has accused BJP supporters of assault. Congress is protesting against this across the state. Congress has made serious allegations against the Dhami government of the state.
Effigy burning in Dehradun: In protest against the incident that took place in the Nainital District Panchayat headquarters, Congressmen demonstrated fiercely by burning the effigy of the BJP government at Ashley Hall Chowk. Congress spokesperson Mohan Kala said that the BJP government is adopting all kinds of tactics to get the election of the District Panchayat President in its favor. He has termed it as the murder of democracy. He said that the incident of scuffle with the Leader of Opposition in Nainital is condemnable. On one hand votes are being stolen in the country, on the other hand candidates are being stolen to win the election during the tenure of CM Pushkar Dhami.
Meanwhile, State President of Mahila Congress Jyoti Rautela also gave her reaction on this incident. She has fiercely attacked the BJP government. She said that to win the elections, the BJP government is hatching various conspiracies against the Congress leaders. She said that the Congress strongly opposes this. Jyoti Rautela said that despite the incident of assault on the Leader of Opposition and senior Congress leaders, the police remained a mute spectator. She said that in fact, there is no such thing as law and order left in the state.
Protest in Kankhal Chowk Market of Haridwar: Congressmen of Haridwar also showed resentment over this matter. Congressmen gathered at Kankhal Chowk Market of Haridwar and raised slogans against the BJP government. Congress leaders warned that the way the government is coming to power with the help of agencies will not be tolerated. Congress will give a befitting reply to this. Congress leader Rakit Balia says that we have burnt the effigy of the BJP state government. He said that from the day the Panchayat elections started in the state, the state government has come out with its arrogant face.
