Gaya: The Customs Department has achieved a major success at Gaya International Airport in Bihar. The Customs team has busted an international drug trafficking network. Five people have been arrested in the Customs operation, including two women. 25 kilograms of hydroponic cannabis have been recovered from them. Significantly, two women are among the five arrested traffickers. The drugs were being smuggled cleverly concealed in toy packages.
Arrived on a Thai AirAsia flight: According to information, Thai AirAsia flight number FD 122 from Don Mueang, Thailand, arrived at Gaya International Airport on Monday at 12:30 PM. After arrival, the Customs team conducted a special operation based on intelligence. When the passengers’ bags were scanned by the X-ray machine, suspicion arose. The identified bags were then opened and inspected. Drugs worth crores recovered: During this inspection, 25 kilograms of hydroponic cannabis were recovered. Its value in the international market is estimated at Rs 25 crore. The Customs team detained five traffickers on the spot, including two women.
The arrested traffickers include three men from Uttar Pradesh. Their names are Gaurav Vidhuri, Gulshan Meena, and Ashwini Kumar Dwivedi. Two women from Punjab were also arrested. They have been identified as Dilpreet Kaur and Manpreet Kaur.
Hidden in toy boxes: According to information, the narcotics were being smuggled hidden in toy boxes. However, this was uncovered during the Customs operation. Further action is being taken after the arrest of the five people. It is being said that this type of trafficking is happening at an international level, and its unearthing is a major achievement.
