Dehradun: It has been raining heavily in Dehradun since last night. The Meteorological Department has issued a warning of heavy rain in most of the districts of Uttarakhand today. The Meteorological Department has declared a heavy rain alert on August 11, i.e. today. Heavy rain is expected at some places in Rudraprayag, Uttarkashi, Chamoli, Dehradun and Champawat. In view of the weather conditions, the district administration has declared a holiday in all schools from class 1 to 12 in Dehradun today.
It is worth noting that the Dehradun Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert regarding heavy rain at some places in the Uttarakhand Meteorological Department Bageshwar district. Rain with thunderstorms has been predicted in Uttarkashi, Rudraprayag, Chamoli, Haridwar and Udham Singh Nagar. The Meteorological Department has also predicted rain at most places in the remaining districts. An alert has been issued regarding heavy rains in Dehradun, Tehri, Pauri and Nainital districts of the state.
Along with this, a yellow alert has been issued regarding heavy rains in other districts of the state. Heavy rains will continue in some areas of most districts on August 12 as well. Here in Dehradun, due to continuous heavy rains since Sunday night, it has become difficult for people to leave their homes. According to the immediate weather forecast in Dehradun, light to moderate rain is expected at some places in the capital Dehradun. While at some places there are chances of lightning with thunder and heavy to very heavy rains.
Heavy rain in Ramnagar too: Torrential rains continue in Nainital district. Continuous heavy rains in many parts of the district including Ramnagar have affected normal life. It has been raining heavily since morning. Due to which people are facing huge problems. In the mountainous areas, the ravines and streams are in spate, while in the plains, waterlogging has occurred at many places.
Due to rain, the water level of many local drains and rivers including Kosi River, Dhangadhi Nala, Teda Nala, Ringoda Nala has suddenly increased. Their fast flow has become a danger for the low-lying areas. Traffic on some rural connecting roads has been affected, due to which people are facing difficulties in movement. At many places, long queues of vehicles have created a situation of jam.
