New Delhi: Cricket fans are experiencing tremendous excitement for the T20 final in Ahmedabad on Sunday. A large number of people are preparing to travel to Ahmedabad to watch the match. In light of this, the Indian Railways has taken a significant decision for the convenience of passengers. Considering the rising flight prices and the shortage of train tickets, the Railways has announced the operation of a special train from New Delhi to Sabarmati.
Northern Railway Chief Public Relations Officer Himanshu Shekhar Upadhyay stated that this special train, number 04062, will depart from New Delhi Railway Station at 11:45 pm on Saturday. The train will stop at major stations like Delhi Cantt, Gurugram, and Jaipur along the way and arrive at Sabarmati Station at 2:30 pm on Sunday. The operation of this special train is expected to provide significant relief to cricket fans traveling to Ahmedabad from Delhi and surrounding areas.
A total of 19 coaches have been installed in the special train.
According to railway officials, this special train has a total of 19 coaches, including third AC and second AC coaches for passenger convenience. Efforts have been made to provide adequate seating capacity so that maximum passengers can avail of this facility. The decision was made due to the high demand for tickets on regular trains.
Himanshu Shekhar Upadhyay said that due to major sporting events like the T20 final, regular trains to Ahmedabad are seeing high demand for tickets. Additionally, airfares have also increased significantly, making travel difficult for ordinary cricket fans. Therefore, the decision to run a special train has been taken to ensure that people can reach Ahmedabad in an affordable and convenient manner.
An Appeal to Book Tickets in Advance
The Railways has appealed to passengers to book tickets in advance for this special train and to follow all railway regulations during the journey. The operation of this train will provide relief to thousands of passengers who want to travel to Sabarmati to watch the match.
