New Delhi: India’s 19-year-old female chess player Divya Deshmukh has made her name famous everywhere. She created history by winning the FIDE Women’s World Cup 2025 on Monday, July 28. She has become the first Indian female player to win the FIDE Women’s Chess World Cup.
Divya Deshmukh registered a spectacular victory on Monday by defeating veteran compatriot Koneru Humpy 1.5-0.5 in the rapid tie-break. After this victory, she started receiving congratulatory messages from all over. After hoisting the Indian tricolor in Batumi, Georgia, President Draupadi Murmu and other big personalities including Prime Minister Narendra Modi have congratulated Divya.
