Vellore (Tamil Nadu): President Droupadi Murmu will visit the famous Golden Temple in Sripuram, Vellore district, on a spiritual tour on Wednesday (December 17). In view of this, the district administration and police have made elaborate security arrangements.
President Murmu will depart from Delhi by flight tomorrow morning and arrive at Renigunta Airport in Andhra Pradesh. From there, she will travel to the Sripuram helipad by an Indian Air Force MI-17 helicopter from Tirupati, arriving at 11:05 AM. Upon landing at the helipad, she will be received by Tamil Nadu Governor R.N. Ravi, District Collector Subbulakshmi, Superintendent of Police Mayilvaganan, and others.
Following this, President Murmu will travel by road from the Sripuram helipad to the Kamala Nivas Guest House. From there, she will proceed to the Golden Temple and participate in various events. From 11:30 AM to 12:15 PM, she will participate in darshan (worship) and aarti at the Sripuram Golden Temple, inaugurate a meditation hall, and participate in a tree-planting ceremony.
After these programs, at 12:15 PM, President Murmu will depart from the Kamala Nivas Guest House, arrive at the Sripuram helipad at 12:25 PM, and then return to Tirupati by MI-17 helicopter at 12:35 PM. In view of the President’s visit, the entire Sripuram Golden Temple complex and surrounding areas have been declared a ‘Red Zone’.
For security reasons, the District Collector has prohibited the use of drones and civil remotely piloted aircraft systems (RPAS) for central government functions, municipal and corporation activities, private company events, or any other type of function tomorrow (December 17). The district administration has also announced that general public movement will be restricted within a 750-meter radius of the Golden Temple during the President’s visit. The district police department stated that preparations for the President’s visit are in full swing, and approximately 1200 police personnel have been deployed for strict surveillance and security duties.
Earlier on Tuesday, President Droupadi Murmu visited Karnataka. The President attended the inaugural function of the 1066th birth anniversary celebrations of Adi Jagadguru Sri Shivarathreeshwara Shivayogi Mahaswamiji in Malavalli district.
The President said that Mahaswamiji’s life and teachings continue to inspire and guide countless people even after more than a thousand years. She said that saints from different eras have illuminated humanity with their wisdom and compassion and reminded society that true greatness lies not in power or wealth, but in sacrifice, service, and spiritual strength.
