Hyderabad: Telangana State Public Service Commission Chairman Burra Venkatesham announced in a statement on Wednesday that the National Conference of Chairpersons of Public Service Commissions (PSCs) from across the country will be held at Ramoji Film City in Hyderabad on December 19 and 20. He said that President Droupadi Murmu will inaugurate the conference, and Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan will attend the closing ceremony on December 20.
He informed that Governor Jishnu Dev Varma, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, UPSC Chairman Ajay Kumar, members Lieutenant General Raj Shukla and Dinesh Dasa, UPSC Secretary Shashi Ranjan Kumar, chairpersons of all state PSCs, and other senior officials will participate in the event. Venkatesham said that this conference will provide a platform for state Public Service Commissions and the UPSC to discuss reforms.
Discussion on challenges in recruitment
He further said, “This conference will discuss the challenges and problems faced in government job recruitment, taking into account the experiences of state PSCs, and a plan will be formulated to address them. Issues such as strengthening transparency and accountability in recruitment and completing recruitments within the stipulated time will also be discussed.” Presentations on challenges and problems
The TGPSC Chairman said, “On the first day of the meeting, the UPSC will give a presentation on the challenges and problems faced by the state Public Service Commissions (PSCs). Following this, the chairpersons of the state PSCs will share their experiences and discuss necessary reforms in the recruitment process, legal challenges, and best practices.” He added that on the second day, the conference will discuss the use of IT in examinations and recruitment, and financial management.
Earlier, upon her arrival in Telangana, President Droupadi Murmu was welcomed by Governor Jishnu Dev Varma and Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu in Hyderabad. The President shared pictures of this on her X account.
