Ranchi: President Draupadi Murmu arrived in Ranchi on Thursday for a day-long visit to Jharkhand. Security and administrative preparations were already underway in the capital for her arrival. Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar and Chief Minister Hemant Soren welcomed her at the Ranchi airport. Tight security arrangements were made at the airport premises, and public movement was controlled. After arriving in Ranchi, President Draupadi Murmu, accompanied by the Chief Minister and Governor, departed for Sonari Airport (Jamshedpur). In Jamshedpur, she will attend the groundbreaking ceremony and unveiling of the plaque at the Shri Jagannath Temple (Shri Jagannath Spiritual and Cultural Charitable Centre Trust) located on Marine Drive in Kadma. The local administration has made extensive preparations for this event. Security arrangements have been strengthened in the temple complex and surrounding areas. The Jagannath Temple Bhoomi Pujan ceremony is considered significant from the religious and cultural perspective of the state. The President’s presence further enhanced the significance of the event. Local public representatives, administrative officials, and dignitaries were also present. This ceremony marked the foundation stone laying ceremony of the grand temple complex, to be built at a cost of approximately ₹100 crore.
Interaction with Students at Manipal Tata Medical College
Following the Bhoomi Pujan ceremony, the President’s next program is scheduled at Manipal Tata Medical College (Baridih, Jamshedpur). She will arrive at the college around 3 p.m. and interact with students. During the ceremony, topics such as education, service, and the role of youth in nation-building were discussed. The college administration had made special preparations for the event, and security arrangements were tightened on the campus. Returning to Ranchi, Departure for Jaisalmer
Following the student interaction, the President returned to Ranchi via Sonari Airport. She will then depart from Ranchi Airport by a special flight to Jaisalmer (Rajasthan).
The administration and security agencies were fully prepared for the President’s visit. Fifteen DSPs and approximately 50 inspectors were deployed at Ranchi Airport. In addition, a large police force was deployed. Intensive checking and surveillance were ensured at the airport and other sensitive locations to ensure a peaceful and safe visit.
