New Delhi: The Election Commission of India (ECI) announced on Saturday that it has invited suggestions to make the ECINet app more user-friendly. The poll panel stated, “The ECI invites all citizens to download the ECINet app and submit their suggestions for improving the app by using the ‘Submit a Suggestion’ tab on the app. Suggestions can be submitted until December 27th.”
The poll panel stated that a trial version of the ECINet app was used during the Bihar Assembly elections and recent by-elections. They stated that this new platform has enabled improved voter service, faster availability of polling percentage trends, and the publication of index cards within 72 hours of the polls closing, compared to the previous process that took weeks or months.
The poll panel stated that learnings from the Bihar elections and feedback from CEOs, DEOs, EROS, observers, and field officers are being incorporated to further improve the platform’s functionality. It added, “User suggestions will be examined and the platform will be further updated to make it more user-friendly. The official launch of the ECINet platform is planned for January 2026.”
The ECI stated that ECINet, which aims to improve voter convenience and enhance transparency in the electoral process through the use of technology, is one of the Commission’s major initiatives. It has been launched under the leadership of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, in collaboration with Election Commissioners Dr. Sukhbir Singh Sandhu and Dr. Vivek Joshi.
The Election Commission stated that the ECINET app is a single, unified app for citizens that integrates 40 previously separate election-related applications/websites, such as the Voter Helpline App (VHA), CVIGIL, Saksham, Polling Trends (Voter Turnout App), and the Know Your Candidate (KYC) app, into a single interface. They stated that the app can be downloaded from both the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store.
