Preparations for the forest safari have intensified in the state. Work has begun on vehicle registration and repairs to the forest road in the Corbett Tiger Reserve. The Bijrani Gate will open on October 15th. Work is underway to establish night stay facilities in the Phato Range of the Terai West Forest Division.
More than 350,000 visitors visit the CTR each year to observe tigers and other wildlife. Day safaris are conducted through six gates, and night stays are also available. Corbett Tiger Reserve Director Saket Badola says that the forest road has suffered significant damage due to the rains this year.
Consequently, work has begun on repairing the forest road. The Bijrani Gate, which will be opened first, is currently underway. Other areas, including culverts, are being repaired. The Forest Rest House is being repaired and facilities are being improved.
In addition to Bijrani, other gates will open on November 15th. DFO Tarun S. says the vehicle registration process has been initiated. Rajaji Tiger Reserve Director Coco Rose says the forest roads were damaged during the rainy season. Instructions have been given to repair the roads and carry out other work. Once the roads are repaired, they will be open for safaris after November 15th
