Preparations for State Foundation Day and the Silver Jubilee celebrations of President Draupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi have intensified. On Friday, District Magistrate Savin Bansal held a meeting with officials at the Rishiparna Auditorium to review the preparations. High-level officials were designated as nodal officers and instructed to take action.
A conference of non-resident Uttarakhandi people and the inauguration of Sainyadham are planned for State Foundation Day. The President and Prime Minister are expected to attend. The District Magistrate directed officials from the Public Works Department, MDDA, Municipal Corporation, Electricity Department, and Forest Department to ensure timely beautification of the proposed route, city roads, cleanliness, and the felling of hanging power lines and fallen trees. The Drinking Water Department was instructed to ensure smooth drinking water arrangements at the event venues. He stated that any negligence in this regard will not be tolerated.
During the Silver Jubilee week, programs will be held across the district with different themes each day, including Women’s Empowerment Day, Good Governance Day, Youth Sports, Environment and Climate Change, Salute to Martyrs, and Historical and Cultural Heritage. He directed officials to ensure proper arrangements for all programs. Self-help groups and NRLM groups should hold an exhibition of products produced on Women’s Day. Officials present at the meeting included Chief Development Officer Abhinav Shah, Divisional Forest Officer Neeraj Sharma, Additional District Magistrate KK Mishra, City Superintendent of Police Pramod Kumar, and others.
