New Delhi: Indian Railways is continuously taking new steps to ensure passenger safety and convenience. In this regard, Western Railway has taken a significant decision to ensure passenger safety. The Railways will now monitor all trains, including Vande Bharat, Rajdhani, and Shatabdi, passing through the Mumbai-Ahmedabad main line, with high-tech cameras. The Railways have installed this system in Valsad. These state-of-the-art cameras are Internet Protocol (IP) based. These cameras have been installed at four rolling points. They will monitor every detail of moving trains in real time. These cameras will immediately detect any danger or defect and send alerts. These state-of-the-art cameras will work equally well in all weather conditions, meaning they will remain unaffected day and night, even during rainy weather.
The Railways’ system will not only speed up the inspection process of coaches and engines, but will also significantly reduce accidents. This will ensure the safety of passengers’ lives and property. Western Railway officials say that with this new technology, engineers will no longer have to get on the tracks to manually inspect trains. This will not only save time but also reduce accidents. The biggest benefit for passengers is that travel will become safer. The cameras will immediately detect defects such as brake failure, bearing heating, or part detachment.
These cameras will work in this direction
According to information, these state-of-the-art cameras are equipped with features such as high-definition video capture, night vision, and all-weather protection. As a train passes through Valsad station, these cameras will automatically capture close-up footage of critical components such as wheels, brake shoes, couplings, rims, and bogie frames. This footage can be monitored in real time by experts in the Carriage and Wagon Engineering Office. If any looseness, smoke, or unusual vibration is detected in a coach, the system will immediately send an alert.
The country’s first smart monitoring system has been installed in Valsad, Gujarat. It has been installed on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad main line. The Railways says this innovation will set a new direction for Western Railway in both safety and efficiency. In the future, similar technology will be deployed at other major stations to provide passengers with a safe, smart, and reliable travel experience.
