- Secretary Disaster Management and Rehabilitation Mr. Vinod Kumar Suman on Monday took stock of the situation arising out of the current rainfall in the state and gave necessary guidelines to all the District Disaster Management Officers. He said that the Meteorological Department has issued a warning of heavy rainfall in many districts of the state, so it is necessary to remain alert. At the same time, the Meteorological Department has declared a red alert for Tehri, Dehradun, Pauri and Bageshwar and an orange alert for Haridwar, Nainital and Champawat. In this regard, a letter has been issued to all the districts from the State Emergency Operations Center.
Secretary Mr. Vinod Kumar Suman directed all the district level officers and disaster related quick response teams to remain on alert mode for 24 hours. He said that full preparation should be ensured to deal with any situation. He directed to send quick response teams to the spot immediately in case of waterlogging and ensure arrangements for quick water drainage.
He said that the water level of the rivers should be monitored continuously. People should be prevented from going to the river banks. Wherever construction work is going on in the state, the safety of the workers working there should be ensured so that no accident occurs. The intensity of rainfall and the potential flood affected areas should be regularly monitored. It should also be analyzed that at what level of rain, which areas are likely to have floods or waterlogging, so that advance action plan can be made. Secretary Disaster Management and Rehabilitation Mr. Vinod Kumar Suman said that all such structures which are blocking the flow of water should be removed immediately.
He also directed to ensure that the public does not face any shortage of ration, medicine, drinking water and other essential services. Continuous supply of these services should be done on priority in the affected areas. On this occasion, Additional Chief Executive Officer Administration Mr. Anand Swaroop, Additional Chief Executive Officer DIG Mr. Rajkumar Negi, Joint Chief Executive Officer Md. Obaidullah Ansari, Duty Officer Under Secretary Vikas Kumar Srivastava, experts of USDMA were present.
Continuous update on the condition of road, highway and traffic

He directed that all the blocked routes should be made operational as soon as possible and the public should be made aware of the condition of the roads so that people can travel according to the condition of the roads.
Special monitoring of power houses
Dehradun. Secretary Disaster Management and Rehabilitation Mr. Vinod Kumar Suman directed to exercise special caution in power houses. He said that wherever there are power houses, if there is a possibility of waterlogging, the power supply should be stopped in time so that loss of life and property can be prevented.
USDMA appeals to the citizens of the state
Take the warnings issued by the Meteorological Department very seriously.
Do not pay attention to any rumours and trust only the official information issued by the administration.
Do not go to the river bank, do not stop in waterlogged areas, avoid unnecessary travel and if there is a possibility of any danger nearby, inform the local administration immediately.
