Satara: A woman doctor committed suicide in Phalatan area of Maharashtra’s Satara district. A police officer has been charged in the case. There was a stir in the medical department after a case of suicide of a woman doctor at the Phalan sub-district hospital came to light.
In her suicide note, the victim doctor has also accused the police sub-inspector of raping her four times. The news has shocked the entire state of Maharashtra. In this case, a suicide note has revealed serious allegations of sexual harassment against police sub-inspector Gopal Badne and mental harassment against another officer Prashant.
Following this shocking incident, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis ordered immediate action. The CM has directed the Satara SP to suspend both the accused policemen. According to the information received in this case, there was a constant dispute between the concerned woman doctor and the police for the past few months. Now information is coming out that the police was being asked to change the medical examination report. The woman doctor was not responding to this demand of the police. This led to a dispute between them.
It is being reported that the woman doctor had also complained to several senior officials in this regard. She said she was being treated unfairly and would give her life. The Lady Doctor finally committed suicide on Thursday night (October 23). The incident of a young doctor’s suicide came to light, causing a stir in the medical sector, including the upazila hospital in the city of Phalan.
In a note written on her palm, the victim accused S.I. Gopal Badne of sexual harassment and mental abuse on Prashant and said his constant harassment forced her to commit suicide. At the same time, the cousin of the young doctor has come out in front of the media and made serious allegations. He alleged that the police used to change the medical examination report. There was constant pressure for this. The victim’s cousin told the media that her doctor sister used to say that she would commit suicide if she was fed up with these.
After the Lady Doctor’s suicide, the reactions of the Minister of State for Home, the Satara’s foster minister and social women activists emerged. The Women’s Commission has taken the incident seriously. A case has been registered against police sub-inspector Gopal Badne and a police officer in the case. Both have been absconding since last night. It is also being reported that two police teams have been sent to search for them.
In the suicide note of the deceased doctor, police inspector Gopal Badne has been accused of sexual harassment and mental harassment on Prashant Ban. Both the accused are currently absconding. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis immediately took cognizance of the matter and contacted Satara Superintendent of Police Tushar Doshi.
At the same time, Minister of State for Home Pankaj Bhair said that the Satara police have started an investigation into the matter. Action will be taken immediately after receiving the preliminary investigation report. Police have also been instructed to register a case, he said.
At present, both the accused Gopal Badne and Prashant are absconding and two police teams have been deployed to search for them. He said that the post-mortem report of the deceased doctor is awaited, which is likely to provide some more information in the case.
