New Delhi: To eradicate organized crime in several districts of Delhi and Haryana, the police launched their largest-ever operation on the night of September 18th. In this operation, dubbed “Break the Backbone of Gangsterism,” Delhi Police simultaneously raided 58 locations and targeted notorious gangs.
Raids at 58 locations in Delhi and Haryana: Teams from the Outer North and Rohini districts of Delhi Police conducted these raids. In addition to Delhi, simultaneous raids were also conducted in Sonipat, Sampla, Jhajjar, Rohtak, and Bahadurgarh (Haryana). A total of 820 police personnel were involved, including 39 teams (500 personnel) from the Outer North and 19 teams (320 personnel) from the Rohini district.
36 apprehended, 6 arrested: Police apprehended a total of 36 suspects in the raids, of which 6 have been formally arrested. The arrested individuals are associated with notorious gangs such as Kala Jatheri, Jitendra Gogi, Neeraj-Rajesh Bawana, Tillu Tajpuria, Kapil Sangwan alias Nandu, and Nettu Dabaudha. Police also registered seven cases under the Arms Act during this period.
Identification of the arrested accused: The operation was led by the Inspector and ACP (Ops) and supervised by DCPs Hareshwar Swami and Rajiv Ranjan. The entire operation was overseen by Joint Commissioner of Police Vijay Singh. The arrested accused include Shaktiman (Kehra Khurd, Delhi), Vedpal (Tikri Khurd, Narela), Prem Singh Sehrawat (Bawana), Naveen (Karala), Ankit alias Vishal (Karala), and Hariom alias Ankit alias Akki (Karala).
Police made significant recoveries: During the raid, police seized ₹49.60 lakh in cash, 1.36 kg of gold, and 14.60 kg of silver. Additionally, a bulletproof Mahindra Scorpio SUV, a motorcycle, 26 mobile phones, and a laptop were recovered. Weapons recovered included seven pistols and revolvers, a button knife, a magazine, 40 live cartridges, three bore brushes, and two cleaning rods. All mobile phones and electronic devices have been sent for forensic examination.
