In view of the upcoming major festivals like Dhanteras, Diwali, Bhaiya Dooj, and Govardhan Puja, the police and administration have prepared a detailed plan for security and traffic management in Doon. A new traffic plan has also been issued to prevent traffic jams in the city. Security personnel are being deployed at all major locations and routes, for which additional forces, including Home Guards and Public Distribution System (PDRS), have been requested. Traffic police officers will continuously monitor the Shimla Bypass and Haridwar Bypass in the city and may impose diversions or restrictions as needed. In view of the traffic jams caused by vehicles in the markets, entry of vehicles has been restricted. Temporary parking spaces have been created around them. SSP Ajay Singh visited the Ghantaghar, Paltan Bazaar, and Lakkhi Bagh areas on Friday to monitor the arrangements. Detailed Traffic Plan for Paltan Bazaar and other markets Loading vehicles will be completely prohibited from entering Paltan Bazaar from 10 am to 9 pm. Loading vehicles can deliver goods before 10 am, but will not be allowed to enter Paltan Bazaar from Darshani Gate, Tilak Road, Bhandari Chowk, Ansari Marg, Tehsil Chowk, and Dispensary Road. They will only be allowed to travel via Raja Road, Peepal Mandi, and Darshani Gate under a one-way system. Vehicles belonging to traders will be allowed entry only through tokens. Entry into the market will be prohibited for other vehicles. Similarly, Dhamaawala Bazaar, Machhi Bazaar, and Peepal Mandi will be completely zero-zones for all types of vehicles. Only pedestrians will be allowed entry. Vikram/Magic Route Vikrams on Rajpur Road (number one) will return from Globe Chowk. Vikrams on Raipur Road (number two) will return from Survey Chowk. Vikrams on Rispana (number three) will return from Doon Chowk. Vikrams on numbers five and eight will be allowed to reach Tehsil Chowk. City Bus Route The new boarding and disembarkation point for buses going to Rajpur Road will be Orient Chowk. Rangers Ground will be the new boarding and disembarkation point for buses going to Doiwala and Sahasradhara. Diversion Arrangements In case of heavy traffic congestion, traffic coming from Raipur via Survey Chowk will be diverted from Curzon Road intersection to Municipal Road. In case of congestion at Ghantaghar, traffic coming from Rajpur Road will be diverted from Orient Chowk to Kanak Chowk, and traffic coming from Darshanlal will be diverted to Lasdowne Chowk. In case of traffic congestion at Dharampur Chowk, traffic coming from Mata Mandir Road will be diverted to Race Course. Traffic going to Dharampur from Nehru Colony intersection will be diverted to Fountain Chowk
