Pokland machines are being airlifted with the help of Indian Air Force to open the roads damaged due to heavy rains and landslides in Uttarkashi Dharali. Border Roads Organisation soldiers are engaged in clearing these roads day and night
Major damaged roads
-Maneri: A part of the road has collapsed in Maneri, 10 km before Bhatwadi, the work of repairing which is going on.
-Bhatwadi: The road has been completely destroyed due to falling of rocks at two places here. The soldiers are trying to make a new road by cutting the mountain.
-Bridge broken: A bridge has been washed away 15 km ahead of Bhatwadi. The soldiers of the Border Roads Organisation have returned after inspecting the bridge site on foot and now a strategy is being made to start it again.
Dabrani: A large part of the road has also been washed away in Dabhrani ahead of this. The soldiers fear that as they move forward, many more damaged parts may be found on the way.
Last night a road was repaired in Bhatwadi but it collapsed again
Yesterday the soldiers of the Road Border Organization had cleared the road by cutting the mountain at one place, but late night it collapsed again. Currently, Pokland machines are being transported from the China border to Dharali via helicopter so that the work of opening the road can be expedited. The soldiers are trying to open these roads as soon as possible and restore normal life.
