This work will be done in many ways, such as reconstruction of houses under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, renovation of national highways, reconstruction of schools, provision of relief under the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund, and release of mini kits for animals. At the same time, PM Modi shared pictures on social media and wrote, “Took stock of the flood and landslide situation in Himachal Pradesh through aerial survey. In this difficult time, we stand firmly with our brothers and sisters of the state. Along with this, we are leaving no stone unturned to help the affected people.” In another post, he wrote, “Interacted with some people affected by heavy floods and landslides in Himachal Pradesh. Their suffering as well as the loss caused by the tragedy is heart-wrenching. We are fully committed to ensure that relief and assistance reaches every person facing the crisis of bad weather.” According to the financial assistance announced by the PM, under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, geotagging of damaged houses will be done. This will help in accurately assessing the damage and providing quick assistance to the affected. To ensure uninterrupted education, schools will be able to report damages and geotag them, which will enable timely assistance under the Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan. Recharge structures will be constructed for water harvesting to collect and store rainwater. These efforts will improve groundwater levels and promote better water management. The central government has already sent inter-ministerial central teams to visit Himachal Pradesh to assess the damage, and further assistance will be considered based on their detailed report.
