New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today formally inaugurated his new state-of-the-art office, “Seva Teerth,” and upon assuming office, signed four major policy decisions that will accelerate the nation’s development. These decisions will directly benefit half the country’s population, the food providers, and the youth who will be the future leaders.
1. A New Dimension to Women’s Power: Target of 6 Crore Lakhpati Didis
In a major leap towards women’s empowerment, the Prime Minister has doubled the target of the “Lakhpati Didi” scheme. The government has already achieved the distinction of making 3 crore women lakhpatis. This has now been increased to 6 crore. This target, to be achieved by March 2029, will empower women self-help groups (SHGs) in rural areas by providing them financial assistance and skill training, making them economically self-reliant. Farmers’ Prosperity: Agriculture Fund Now ₹2 Lakh Crore
To double farmers’ income and modernize agriculture, the Agriculture Infrastructure Fund (AIF) has been increased from ₹1 lakh crore to ₹2 lakh crore. This investment will revolutionize the construction of cold storage facilities, state-of-the-art warehouses, and processing units in villages. This will reduce crop wastage and ensure farmers receive better prices for their produce.
3. Life Safety in Road Accidents: PM RAHAT Scheme
In the area of health and safety, the Prime Minister has approved the ‘PM RAHAT’ (Prime Minister’s Relief and Assistance in High-Risk Accident Trauma) scheme. Under this scheme, road accident victims will receive cashless hospital treatment up to ₹1.5 lakh. This will prove to be a lifeline for saving lives during the ‘golden hour’ (the time immediately following an accident). FoF 2.0 for Startups and Youth
The Startup India Fund of Funds (FoF) 2.0 has been approved to promote young entrepreneurs and innovation. This new fund of ₹10,000 crore will be used specifically in deep tech, emerging startups, and advanced manufacturing sectors. This will not only increase self-employment opportunities but also strengthen India’s position as a global startup hub.
