Kurnool: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Kurnool district of Andhra Pradesh on the 16th of this month. Here, he will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of several major development projects worth about Rs 13,430 crore. The project is expected to strengthen the region’s electrical infrastructure and boost industrial development. The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) has given information about the event.
The tour will begin with a stop at the Shivaji Swarti Kendra, followed by the foundation stone laying and inauguration of several major projects related to infrastructure, industrial and road projects in the district. The Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone of the transmission system connecting the Kurnool-3 pooling station, which is worth Rs 2,880 crore.
Orwakal and Koparthi industrial corridors, bridges over the Papaghni river and S. Significant investments will also be made on the Gundlapalli-Kanigiri bypass, which will cost a total of Rs 4,920 crore. These corridors are being developed jointly by the National Industrial Corridor Development and Implementation Trust (NICDIT) and AP Industrial Infrastructure Investment Corporation (APIIC). These initiatives will attract investments of around Rs 21,000 crore and create employment for about one lakh people. This will boost industrial development in the Rayalaseema region and increase its competitiveness at the national and international level. In addition, the Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone of the greenfield road (Rs 960 crore) between Sabbavaram and Sheilanagar. Will oversee the widening of the four-lane road between Pileru and Kaluru.
He will inaugurate important railway overbridges including Gudiwada-Nujella and Pendurthi-Singhachalam. He will also inaugurate the fourth lane of the Kothavalsa-Vijayanagaram highway (Rs 1,200 crore). During the visit, the GAIL gas pipeline as well as other projects like Kothavalsa-Boddawara and Similiguda-Gorapur sections will also be dedicated to the nation.
