Guwahati: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be on a two-day visit to Assam on Saturday, September 13. During his two-day stay, the Prime Minister will attend the birth centenary celebrations of Bharat Ratna Dr. Bhupen Hazarika. According to the information, he will also lay the foundation stone and inaugurate various development projects costing around Rs 18,000 crore.
PM Modi’s visit to Assam is considered very important as assembly elections are going to be held here next year in 2026. Let us tell you, this will be the second visit of the Prime Minister to Assam in seven months. Earlier, he attended the inaugural ceremony of Advantage Assam 2.0 on 24 February.
Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma gave full details of Prime Minister Modi’s two-day program. CM Sarma said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will reach the airport on September 13 at 4:20 pm. After this, at 5:25 pm, he will attend the Bharat Ratna Bhupen Hazarika Birth Centenary Celebrations at Khanapara in Guwahati.
Let us tell you, the Assam government started the year-long celebration of Dr. Bhupen Hazarika’s birth centenary on 8 September with colorful programs across the state. Himanta Biswa Sarma further said that during the birth centenary celebrations of Dr. Bhupen Hazarika on September 13, more than 1,200 artists will present a unique program and collectively sing 14 evergreen songs of Bhupen Hazarika for more than 18 minutes. In this program, the biography of Bhupen Hazarika will also be released by the Prime Minister, which will be published in all the languages โโโโrecognized by the Indian Constitution. He said that this biography will be delivered to a total of 20 lakh people.
CM Sarma further informed that the Reserve Bank of India has also issued a โน 100 coin with his image in honor of Bhupen Hazarika and the Finance Ministry has issued a notification in this regard. On this occasion, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will officially unveil this coin.
PM Modi will reach Mangaldoi at 11 am on Sunday, September 14. There he will lay the foundation stone of projects worth a total of โน 567 crore, including Darang Medical College, a nursing college and a GNM school. He will also lay the foundation stone of a bridge to be built between Kuruwa and Narengi on the Brahmaputra River at a cost of about โน 1,200 crore and a link road project to be built at a cost of โน 4,500 crore. This link road will connect Narengi, Digaru, Baihata and Kuruwa, bringing the city of Guwahati in a single loop.
After this, Prime Minister Modi will reach Numaligarh Refinery at 2:30 pm on September 14. He will lay the foundation stone of India’s first bio-refinery project built by Numaligarh Refinery at a cost of โน 5,000 crore. This bio-refinery will make ethanol and many other products from bamboo. Its trial run has been successful and the Numaligarh bio-refinery is a success. After this, he will lay the foundation stone of a polypropylene production project costing โน7,000 crore. The Assam Chief Minister said that the Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone and inaugurate projects worth a total of โน18,000 crore in Assam on September 14. PM Modi will leave for Kolkata from Jorhat airport in the evening.
