Hyderabad: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is celebrating his 75th birthday today, Wednesday. Numerous events are being organized across the country to mark the occasion. Heads of state, politicians, and industrialists from both India and abroad are also offering their best wishes.
PM Modi is the first leader of independent India to become Prime Minister. He was born on September 17, 1950, in Vadnagar, Gujarat. After Pandit Nehru, PM Modi is the first person to hold the post of Prime Minister for a third time. From 2014 to 2025, he has implemented numerous schemes for the people of the country, benefiting everyone. On the occasion of PM Modi’s 75th birthday, we are introducing you to such schemes. Take a look. PM Jan Dhan Yojana
First, let’s talk about the PM Jan Dhan Yojana. PM Modi launched this scheme on August 28, 2014. His objective behind implementing this scheme was to provide access to banks to all citizens of the country. He stated that every person in the country should benefit from banking services. The special feature of this scheme was that accounts are opened with a zero balance. Under this scheme, account holders are allowed to withdraw up to Rs. 10,000 using a RuPay debit card through an overdraft service. Along with this, several other benefits are also provided, including accidental insurance of Rs. 2 lakh. It has been more than 10 years since this scheme was implemented. By 2025, more than 56 crore accounts have been opened under this scheme, of which over 55 crore are active. Another special feature of the PM Jan Dhan Yojana is that more than 50 percent of the accounts are in the name of women. Atal Pension Yojana
PM Modi launched this scheme on May 9, 2025. This scheme was launched to ensure that workers in the unorganized sector receive a fixed pension. Under the Atal Pension Yojana (APY), accounts are opened for people between the ages of 18 and 40. After reaching the age of 60, they will receive a monthly pension of โน1,000 to โน5,000. To date, over 70 million accounts have been opened under the Atal Pension Yojana. PM Awas Yojana
Prime Minister Narendra Modi implemented this scheme to help poor people realize their dream of owning a home. The PM launched the scheme on June 25, 2015. According to statistics, more than 40 million PM Awas Yojanas have been built by March 2025. The scheme has been extended until 2029. The Modi cabinet has also approved the construction of 20 million rural houses, with an approved amount of over โน3 lakh crore.
PM Ujjwala Yojana
The Modi government launched this scheme on May 1, 2016. During his first term, PM Modi stated that this would provide relief from the smoke of stoves to women in poor households. Gas connections are provided free of charge to BPL families, along with subsidized LPG cylinders. Nine years have passed since the implementation of this scheme, and over 100 million BPL families are benefiting from it. PM Kisan Yojana
This scheme was implemented with farmers in mind. It is the most popular scheme. It was launched on February 24, 2019. Under this scheme, small farmers are provided with financial assistance of โน6,000 annually in three installments. So far, 20 installments have been transferred to farmers’ accounts by 2025.
PM Garib Kalyan Yojana
This central government scheme aims to provide free rations. It was launched on March 26, 2020. Five kilograms of free grain are provided every month to 800 million people in the country. This scheme has been extended for five years from 2024.
PM Suryaghar Free Electricity Scheme
PM Modi launched the PM Suryaghar Free Electricity Scheme on February 15, 2024, with the aim of providing free electricity to all households. Under this scheme, beneficiaries receive 300 units of electricity free of charge. Additionally, the government provides a subsidy of โน78,000 for installing solar panels. As of March 10, 2025, approximately 1 million homes have been installed with solar panels.
Ayushman Bharat Scheme
Prime Minister Narendra Modi implemented this scheme on September 23, 2018, during his first term to provide free medical treatment to the public. Under this scheme, treatment up to โน5 lakh is free. Last year, the central government also included senior citizens over 70 years of age in this scheme. To date, more than 340 million people have been issued Ayushman cards. Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Yojana
PM Modi launched this scheme on May 9, 2015. Under this scheme, senior citizens between the ages of 18 and 70 receive accidental insurance. The central government also provides coverage of โน2 lakh for an annual premium of just โน20. In case of disability, coverage of โน1 lakh is also available. According to PMJJBY, more than 510 million people have registered so far.
Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana
Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched this scheme in 2015. This scheme provides insurance cover of โน2 lakh for an annual premium of just โน436. People between the ages of 18 and 55 can avail the benefits of this scheme. According to PMJJBY data, more than 230 million people have registered.
