Cabinet Minister Ganesh Joshi participated today as the chief guest in a seminar organized by the Phytochemistry and Ayurveda Society at Indra Road, Dehradun, on the potential and possibilities of phytochemistry and Ayurveda.
On this occasion, Minister Ganesh Joshi said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s statement that the third decade of the 21st century would be Uttarakhand’s decade is now becoming a reality. He said that in this direction, the state had the opportunity to host the 10th World Ayurveda Congress and Arogya Expo, which was successfully held in Dehradun last year. He expressed his gratitude to Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami for this.
Minister Joshi said that Ayurveda is India’s ancient and scientific system of medicine, which promotes a healthy and balanced life through natural and traditional methods. Ayurveda is not only helpful in disease management but is also extremely useful for mental health, stress management, well-being, and overall wellness. Highlighting phytochemistry, he said that it is a branch of science that studies the structure, properties, and uses of chemical compounds found in plants. Through phytochemistry, research is being conducted in important areas such as drug development, nutrition and health, agriculture, plant protection, and environmental conservation.
Cabinet Minister Ganesh Joshi said that the possibilities for Ayurveda in Uttarakhand are immense. The state’s rich flora and biodiversity provide immense opportunities for the discovery of new medicines. He emphasized the preservation of traditional Ayurvedic knowledge passed down through generations in local communities. Minister Joshi said that the state government is continuously working to make Ayurvedic medicine accessible to everyone so that citizens have safe and natural treatment options. He said that the development of Ayurveda and phytochemistry will create new employment opportunities, promote tourism, and strengthen the local economy.
He also stressed the need to work in the field of aroma and aromatic medicine, stating that the agriculture, horticulture, and aromatic plant centers are actively working in this direction. On this occasion, Cabinet Minister Ganesh Joshi also extended his advance New Year greetings and best wishes to everyone.
