During the three-tier panchayat elections in the state, the police and the excise department have taken major action and seized huge amounts of cash, liquor, narcotics and precious metals. On July 16, the police seized 763.300 liters of illicit liquor, the estimated value of which is Rs 5,17,033
The Excise Department seized 653.70 liters of liquor, the value of which is estimated at Rs 5,58,456. The police also seized 1.5929 kg of narcotics, the estimated value of which is Rs 13,00,200.
A total of 19215.950 liters of liquor worth Rs 98,97,810 has been seized till July 16. 28.3913 kg of narcotics worth Rs 12,94,08,809 has been seized. The total value of the items seized so far is Rs 14,22,38,719
