Dehradun: May has started with a change in weather in Uttarakhand. Due to this, there was relief from heat in the plains, while cold has returned to the mountains once again. On Thursday, when clouds and winds blew in Doon, a drop in temperature was seen. On the other hand, there is a possibility of strong winds with clouds in Doon on Friday as well.
Due to the changed pattern of weather, heat was felt from the last days of March itself. By the time April came, the temperature of the plains had crossed the normal figure. However, in the meantime, the weather changed two-three times and cold returned. Except for a few days of April, the heat troubled throughout the month.
In such a situation, when May started with a change in weather, the plains got pleasant weather and got relief from the heat. If we look at the figures, the maximum temperature of Doon was recorded at 34.2 degrees with a drop of one degree from normal. The same was the condition of other parts of the state. The weather was pleasant with clouds and winds throughout the day.
Travel to the mountains with preparation, the weather will remain changed till May 5
Weather experts have given instructions to travel with caution in the hilly areas of the state till May 5. Due to change in weather, cold may return. In such a situation, leave home only after taking warm clothes and information about the weather. Especially those going on Chardham Yatra must take information about the weather there. Director of Meteorological Center Bikram Singh said, change in weather will be seen across the state till May 5. Strong winds and lightning along with rain in some areas can increase problems. The main reason for this is the activation of Western Disturbance.
