There is a warning of heavy rain in the hilly districts of Uttarakhand. According to the forecast issued by the Meteorological Center, an orange alert has been issued for heavy to very heavy rain in some areas of Tehri, Uttarkashi, Chamoli, Bageshwar and Nainital including Dehradun.
Apart from this, a yellow alert has been issued for heavy rain with lightning in other districts. There is also an orange alert for heavy rain in the hilly districts on August 25. While there is a possibility of heavy rain across the state till August 27.
Schools from class 1 to 12 will remain closed in three districts.
Due to the weather forecast, the District Magistrate has declared holiday in classes 1 to 12 and Anganwadi centers in Dehradun, Uttarkashi and Chamoli districts.
