Amidst Operation Sindoor, the Uttarakhand government has tightened vigilance in sensitive areas in the state. Instructions have been given to make strict security arrangements especially in view of the Chardham Yatra. Uttarakhand has received 15 companies of paramilitary to increase security. Home Secretary Shailesh Bagauli has confirmed this. He said that instructions have been given to re-identify sensitive areas and tighten surveillance and vigilance there.
After the virtual meeting of the Union Home Minister on Wednesday, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami had discussed with senior officials. He had especially instructed to make special arrangements for the security of Chardham Yatra, big and important institutions of the state, and power plants.
The entire administration has come on high alert mode on the instructions of the CM. Instructions have been issued by the Home Secretary to the Director General of Police to tighten vigilance. Eight more companies of paramilitary have reached Uttarakhand for foolproof security arrangements.
In total, the state has received 15 companies. According to the Home Secretary, these companies have been deployed especially for the Char Dham Yatra. Security and surveillance has been increased in all the four Dhams. Security and intelligence agencies have been asked to keep a close watch on suspicious activities. Para military will also be used to make tight security arrangements in various fairs and festivals held in the state.
