Dehradun: On the third day of Operation Kalanemi campaign in Uttarakhand, Doon Police arrested 34 fake babas roaming around in the guise of saints and sages from different police station areas. So far, Doon Police has arrested 82 fake babas in 3 days. On the other hand, 3 suspicious babas have also been detained in Ramnagar, who were trying to cheat the local people by deceiving them.
Let us tell you that Operation Kalanemi is being run against fake babas who play with the sentiments and beliefs of the people in the name of religion in Devbhoomi. These are the same people who mislead people, especially women and youth, by disguising themselves as saints. Then they commit incidents of fraud by luring them to solve their personal or domestic problems. Instructions have been given to identify such people and take action against them.

Legal action is being taken against them under the relevant sections. Among the arrested fake babas, 23 people are from other states.” – Ajay Singh, SSP, Dehradun
Three suspicious babas in police custody in Ramnagar: The police administration has taken a tough stand against fake babas who cheat the general public by wearing saffron clothes in Uttarakhand. Under which, on Sunday, Ramnagar Police has also started tightening the noose on fake babas by conducting search operations in various areas. Under which three suspicious babas have been detained, who were trying to cheat the local people by deceiving them.
The police said that some of the babas caught are from states outside Uttarakhand. All of them are being interrogated intensively. The police had received complaints from many places that some people were spreading superstition wearing religious attire and were duping people in the name of miraculous cures, tantra-mantra and puja-paath.
Taking these complaints seriously, the police took immediate action and started monitoring the activities of the suspicious babas and finally cracked down on them. The police has clarified that ‘Operation Kalanemi’ is not a one-day operation. Rather, this campaign will continue continuously in the Ramnagar city area as well as in the rural areas.
