Dehradun: Only lawyers can wear white shirt and black pants or coat in Dehradun’s district court premises or chamber block. If any broker, clerk or law student (intern) is seen in lawyer’s uniform, action will be taken against them. Dehradun Bar Association has clarified that a case will be registered against those who practice law without authorization.
The Bar Association has also issued instructions regarding dress code and identity card for law interns. Also, all lawyers have been requested to get the identity card of the person working as clerk from Bar Association Dehradun.
The case will be registered after identification
According to the special information issued by Bar President Manmohan Kandwal and Secretary Rajbir Singh Bisht, it has come to the notice of the association that some people who are not lawyers are working in the court premises showing themselves as lawyers. They are also appearing in the court in the attire of lawyers. There are some people who work as clerks with some advocates, but roam around in the court premises in black pants and white shirt. The association has said that all such people will be identified and a case will be registered.
New rules for interns
Clear instructions have been given to interns that they should come in their college dress, which has the college monogram on it. They should also wear the college identity card. A letter will be sent to the college for disciplinary action against interns who do not follow the instructions.
