Dehradun: Amidst the ongoing debate on ‘One Country, One Election’, the Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) will reach Uttarakhand on 20th May. This committee includes 40 MPs including Garhwal MP Anil Baluni. JPC is going to start its tour from Maharashtra and Uttarakhand.
The Parliamentary Committee will be in Uttarakhand from 20th to 22nd May. It will hold talks with various political parties and stakeholders here. PP Chaudhary will be present as the chairman in JPC. At the level of Government of India, 40 MPs are members of the Joint Parliamentary Committee. The committee will reach Dehradun on the evening of 20th May.
Will also meet representatives and take opinion
After this, on 21st May, the members of the Joint Parliamentary Committee will meet the Chief Secretary, Director General of Police in the morning and talk about ‘One Country, One Election’. It will also take suggestions from the heads of the Home Department, Finance, Law, Education Department. The committee will also meet the officials of NTPC, THDC here.
The Joint Parliamentary Committee will also meet representatives of various political parties to seek their opinion on One Country, One Election. On the last day of its tour on 22nd May, the committee will meet the officials of the State Election Commission to seek their opinion.
During this period, the committee members will also meet the senior advocates of the state, members of the Bar Council, officials of IIT Roorkee and folk artists. After Uttarakhand, the Joint Parliamentary Committee will visit different states of the country to seek opinion on One Country, One Election and submit its report to the Parliament.
