Laksar: Taking prompt action in the case of gang rape and attempted murder of a minor in Thana Pathri area, Haridwar police arrested the main accused within 15 hours. This case was considered very sensitive due to the connection between two different communities.
On August 9, a minor was gang raped in Pathri area. The accused fled after throwing the victim from the roof. Angry villagers gheraoed the Ferupur outpost. They remained adamant on the demand for the arrest of the accused.
The victim’s family lodged a complaint in Thana Pathri that Arvind and two other youths of the same village took his minor daughter to a deserted house near a factory and gang raped her. Fearing being caught, the accused threw her from the roof of the house. Seeing the seriousness of the matter, SSP Pramod Singh Dobal himself took cognizance of the matter. Several teams were formed under the supervision of SP Rural Shekhar Suyal. On the basis of manual policing and evidence, the police arrested 19-year-old Arvind from Pathri railway station on August 10. Pathri police station in-charge Manoj Nautiyal said that police teams are raiding to arrest other accused. The accused was produced in the court, from where he has been sent directly to jail.
Murder of villager in Bhikkampur village: In a sensational incident last midnight in Bhikkampur village of Laksar Kotwali area, a 45-year-old villager was murdered with a sharp weapon. The deceased has been identified as Rajesh. The family has accused Deepak, a youth from the same village, of murder. A CCTV related to the incident is going viral. In which a person is seen going into Rajesh’s house with a weapon in his hand. He is also seen coming out after some time.
According to the information, there was a rivalry between the deceased Rajesh and the accused Deepak for the last few days. It is being told that late at night the accused Deepak reached Rajesh’s house with a sharp weapon in his hand. He attacked Rajesh who was sleeping. Rajesh died on the spot due to serious injuries, while the accused fled after the incident.
