The closing ceremony of the eighth National Nutrition Month was held on Friday at the Tourism and Culture Department’s Nimbuwala auditorium. On this occasion, women and children were provided with Mahalaxmi kits as part of their nutrition kits. Chief guest at the event, Union Minister of State for Women and Child Development, Savitri Thakur, said that the mission launched under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the nutrition of women and children in the country is a successful example of public participation. The efforts being made in Uttarakhand in this direction are commendable. Women Empowerment and Child Development Minister Rekha Arya said that to make India a developed nation by 2047, it is essential that every woman and child in the country receives proper nutrition. She said that only when every section of society is nourished and healthy will the nation be able to progress to its full potential. Rekha Arya said that Anganwadi workers play a crucial role in this direction. They must work as pioneers of nutrition awareness in every village. He stated that the state government’s efforts are yielding positive results in nutrition campaigns, and this collective effort is a strong step towards making India “malnutrition-free.” At the event, guests inspected various stalls, including Oho Radio, Nutrition Campaign, Supplementary Nutrition, Mission Shakti, Nari Niketan and Bal Grih, as well as those of the Agriculture, Horticulture, and Education departments. Cabinet Minister Ganesh Joshi, Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Women Empowerment, Government of India, Luv Agarwal, Joint Secretary Radhika Jha, Department Secretary Chandresh Kumar, Director Banshilal Rana, and Mrs. Nimisha Jha, along with numerous officials and dignitaries, were present at the event. ₹1.56 crore released under the Vatsalya Yojana* On this occasion, a total of ₹1.56 crore was transferred directly to the accounts of 5,211 beneficiaries from all 13 districts under the Chief Minister’s Vatsalya Yojana for the month of September.
