To prepare digital land records in the state, preparations are underway for ground truthing after a flying survey. Revenue personnel are being trained for this purpose in Bhagwanpur. Additionally, Rover machines have been purchased as part of the on-site verification process.
Under the Map Project, efforts have been underway for a long time to prepare digital land records in four municipalities as a pilot project. Almora, Bhagwanpur, Kichha, and Narendra Nagar Palika have been identified.
Except for Narendra Nagar, the first phase of the flying survey (map) has been completed in the remaining three locations. Work is underway in Narendra Nagar. The next phase will involve on-the-ground verification of the information obtained through the flying survey. Training of revenue teams has begun in Bhagwanpur.
The goal is to complete the verification work in all four municipalities by November.
In addition to training revenue personnel for approximately 10 days, field work will also be conducted in Bhagwanpur. After the training is complete, teams will conduct verification in the respective municipalities. Rover machines (used for digital mapping of land) have also been purchased for this purpose. The target is to complete the verification work in all four bodies by November. After the on-site verification, the work of matching the records and taking the side of the landowners will be done. After these processes, the land records will be prepared digitally for the first time.
The work of preparing digital land records is going on in all four bodies. Now the work of ground truthing is to be started, for this training has been started. Preparation of digital land records will reduce land related disputes and will help in preparing plans.
