Despite numerous efforts, a road has not been built in the block’s Airtha village, causing significant inconvenience to villagers. On Thursday, villagers brought a sick woman, Himanti Devi, five kilometers from Dandi to the hospital.
The eight-kilometer road approved in 2021 has not been constructed. Villagers are suffering the consequences of the lack of a road in the Scheduled Caste-dominated Airtha village. Due to the lack of a road, schoolchildren have to navigate dangerous mountain paths daily. On Thursday, villagers brought the sick woman, Himanti Devi, wife of Khadak Ram, from Dandi to the Dewal Primary Health Center. After receiving first aid, she was referred to a higher facility.
Village head Prema Devi stated that the eight-kilometer Padmalla-Kanjru-Airtha road was approved in 2021. Four years later, the road remains unconstructed, causing the sick, pregnant women, and schoolchildren to suffer. She stated that she had repeatedly requested departmental officials to construct the road. He warned of staying away from the upcoming assembly elections if the road cutting work is not started.
